Dundee
Dundee was historically associated with the ‘3 Js’ – jam, jute and journalism. Like many other cities it has re-invented itself, becoming a renowned centre for digital technology, especially computer games. In recent years its waterfront has undergone a radical transformation, including the opening of the innovative Victoria & Albert Dundee museum of design. But its historic connections are much in evidence, including restored ships, converted mills, and world-famous DC Thomson comic book characters cast in bronze. The road and rail bridges across the Tay estuary feature prominently in many views, especially from the top of the city’s own mini-mountain, Dundee Law (174m).
